New Ground Foundation

NEW GROUND FOUNDATION

The foundation is being prepared

We need our forests: as rainmakers,

Livelihood, home, place to breathe. Forests

are the livelihood of 80 percent of all rural

species and the source of 75 percent of the world’s

fresh water. But in the Canadian forests,

Red alert. Help with reforestation.

More than 15 million hectares of forest have already burned down in Canada since the beginning of 2024. That is an area almost four times the size of Switzerland. Reforestation is laborious and takes a long time. A start-up from Toronto wants to speed up the process with drones and plant a billion trees by 2028.

How it works

In order to create a basis for and support the reforestation of areas with diseased or burned forests that were previously cleared by CAE, a foundation is established by CAE.

The foundation works with authorities and organizations to organize and finance sustainable reforestation.

There, specialists will create a reforestation plan that includes the selection of tree species that are suitable for the area

are native and under the local soil and

climatic conditions can thrive.

The foundation takes over all tasks such as planting, monitoring and care of the

reforestation project.

CAE is providing the seven-figure seed capital and ongoing financial support to ensure the success of the project.

It is also planned that the foundation will be headed by a well-known political figure and that other personalities and companies will participate.

An example of this is the

Support of research projects in collaboration with renowned

Professors from local universities.

By supporting these projects, the Foundation can help solve climate-related problems and develop new technologies used in reforestation.

Investing in reforestation projects can be an effective way to limit the impacts of climate change.

Such projects can help reduce carbon levels in the atmosphere by planting new forests that store carbon and by protecting soils from erosion that releases carbon into the atmosphere.

In addition, reforestation projects can

help mitigate climate change at the local level by increasing local vegetation, reducing local temperatures and improving air quality.

MISSIONSTATEMENT

We have a great responsibility to manage our planet sustainably. This means that we must use all measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, optimise energy and water consumption, and avoid and recycle waste in order to protect our ecosystems.

CoAlternative Ltd. is actively involved in this effort by creating a sustainable replacement for coal from diseased and burned forests - CAE Green Energy Pellets. Through this effort, we contribute to protecting our environment and preserving our habitat for future generations.

CAE seeks to collaborate with the Alliance of Canadian Land Trusts.

The vision of the Alliance of Canadian Land Trusts (ACLT) is to protect nature by managing and conserving key landscapes in communities across Canada. ACLT supports and empowers land trusts across Canada to advance land protection in a vibrant, unified and effective manner.
